MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME - CAMEL CAMPER TRAILER

After much soul searching and deliberation I have finally settled on a Camel Camper Trailer as my home away from home.  I was looking for something that was easy to tow, easy to put up and pull down by one person and provided a few simple luxuries.  The model I purchased is the on-road Nomad with an upgraded suspension to make it a light off-road camper.  Why Camel you may ask?  Quality and value for money is what I was after and that is what I have received.  The following options were added to the basic Nomad:

  • tent extended from 10 to 13 feet
  • 5 leaf shackle off road suspension
  • vertical spare wheel
  • tool box and seal
  • rear bike mount
  • steel pole carrier
  • jerry can holder
  • aluminium ladder for the bed
  • 65 litre water tank
  • deluxe stainless steel kitchen
  • strut to the trapdoor under the bed
  • mud flaps (needed for NSW rego)
  • wired for 240 volt power
  • 12 volt 80 ah deep cycle battery and battery box
  • dust seals to deck and tailgate
  • kitchen window; and
  • full annex and gazebo

Further additions:

  • Coleman duel fuel twin burner stove
  • Coleman Duel Fuel twin mantle light
  • Waeco CF50 Refrigerator
  • Waeco Battery pack
  • 2 12 volt Torpedo Lights
  • Shade cloth matting to go under tent area
  • Rhino bike rack
  • 12 volt socket inside kitchen
  • Carpet lining to the inside of the trailer
  • Projecta 12 volt 80 watt solar panels
